Turbulent times for SCC over the summer break with Spacks being deported to Dubai, Hammo upgrading to the Hibs, the manager stepping down/sacked and the Chairman stopping all win bonuses. Change was needed and found with the introduction of Houlahan as First team manager. With a less than impressive managerial career at the SCC Tigers and a discipline record longer than the Great Wall of China, this was something of a gamble from the SCC committee.
This gamble looked like it may pay off with a good pre-season under our belt and an impressive 9-0 victory against the Swiss on the opening day of the season.
3-0 at half time with a powerful header from Dom on his SCC debut, another header from Hutcheon after a good cross from Robert, and cool finish from Anthony.
Going into the second half the SCC stepped up the intensity with a further 3 goals from Hutcheon and additional goals from Tyler, Callum and a piece of individual brilliance from Mike.
With the Swiss running out of steam as the game went on, and the quality that SCC could put on the field in the 2nd half made a big difference to the end result.
MOM for SCC was Anthony who never gave the ball away and controlled the midfield for 90mins.
MOM for the Swiss was the number 19. Kept on trying under difficult circumstances.
All the best to the Swiss for the season.
